How green is your coffee?

A full life cycle assessment of a new brand of coffee with special packaging finds that it lives up to green credentials.

Researchers calculated the environmental impact of the coffee brand from production through to consumption.

While the packaging is not made from recycled material, it’s light, meaning less energy and water is to manufacture the packaging. Lighter packaging also reduces greenhouse gas emissions during transport.

    Would like to point out that this article is misleading - the RMIT study is about the packaging only, not the coffee stored within...which I note is not Rainforest Alliance or FairTrade certified...
