Online therapy helps those with depression

People with depression or anxiety can see long-lasting improvements by using online therapy programs.

Dr Lou Farrer, from the Australian National University’s Centre for Mental Health Research (CMHR), looked at two online therapy programs, MoodGym and BluePages.

They then compared those who used the online programs with those who used traditional Lifeline services or a weekly phone call and found that sufferers using the online therapy saw “a significant, immediate drop in symptoms of depression” according to Dr Farrer.
