Warwick Britton is Bosch Professor of Medicine and Professor of Immunology at the University of Sydney and head of the Mycobacterial Research Program at the Centenary Institute. He has a longstanding interest in the immunology and control of tuberculosis and leprosy, having worked in Nepal for seven years. His studies include the development novel vaccines against tuberculosis, the dissection of cellular immune responses to mycobacteria and their antigens, and the genetic analysis of host immune responses to infection. With Professor G Marks, he participates in a collaborative project with the National Tuberculosis Program in Hanoi to help improve tuberculosis control in Vietnam. He is Principal Investigator on a recently awarded NHMRC Centre for Research Excellence for: Tuberculosis Control: from Discovery to Public Health Policy and Practice.
