Emeritus Professor of Transnational Studies, University of Sydney

Bronwyn Winter is an Emeritus Professor of Transnational Studies at the University of Sydney,, where she formerly taught European Studies and International and Global Studies programs, as well as International and Comparative Literary Studies, and before that, French and Francophone Studies.

Her publications include Hijab and the Republic: Uncovering the French Headscarf Debate (Syracuse University Press 2008), the international anthology September 11, 2001: Feminist Perspectives (Hawthorne and Winter eds, Spinifex 2002) and a followup monograph Women, Insecurity and Violence in a Post-/11 World (Syracuse University Press, 2017), and The Political Economy of Same-Sex Marriage: A Feminist Critique (Routledge 2020).

She is currently a spokeswoman for RespectMySex Australia.
