Christopher Stevenson

Associate Professor Chris Stevenson is an epidemiologist and biostatistician with a particular interest in the use of epidemiological and statistical data in health policy development. He has an honours degree in mathematical statistics from the University of Melbourne, a masters degree in applied statistics from the Australian National University and a PhD in epidemiology and population health from the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health at the ANU. He worked at the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare for 21 years as a Research Fellow, Senior Analyst and Unit Head before moving to Monash University as head of Epidemiological Modelling in the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine. Since January 2012 he has been Associate Professor of Epidemiology at Deakin University's School of Health and Social Development, where he teaches Epidemiology and Biostatistics and is course leader for the Deakin Master of Public Health program. He is also the lead investigator of an Australian Research Council funded project examining the link between health risk factors and the onset of disability.
