Mike has a background in political science, economics, history and finance, with a PhD examining the international political economy of corruption and organised crime. He is currently conducting research macroeconomic policy responses to crises, wealth inequality, and behavioural economics and public policy.

He lectures at the University of Melbourne, teaching subjects in the field of political economy.
