Dr Nicole Mockler is Professor of Education in the Sydney School of Education and Social Work at the University of Sydney. Her research focuses on education policy and politics, particularly as they frame teachers’ work, professional identities and learning. Her recent books include Constructing Teacher Identities: How the Print Media Define and Represent Teachers and their Work (Bloomsbury, 2022), which explores representations of teachers in the Australian print media from 1996 to 2020, and Questioning the Language of improvement and reform in education: Reclaiming meaning (Routledge, 2018, with Susan Groundwater-Smith). Nicole was Editor in Chief of The Australian Educational Researcher, the scholarly peer-reviewed journal of the Australian Association for Research in Education, from 2017 to 2022. She is Visiting Fellow at Harris Manchester College, University of Oxford, from January to June 2023.
