Northern New South Wales fish farmers, undercut by overseas prawners, now have a reason to restock their ponds.

Prawn ponds were getting empty as the industry shrank due to price pressures from Chinese producers, but now they’re filling up with mulloway. Researchers have shown that the local estuarine fish can flourish in prawn ponds, producing a delicious and sustainable alternative product.
