What’s in a name? Everything

People with a name that is easy to pronounce are more likely to be offered promotions and rise through the professional and political ranks.

A joint study by Melbourne University and New York University has shown that the pronunciation of names can influence us when forming impressions or making decisions.

The study looked at a variety of Anglo, Asian, and Western and Eastern European backgrounds, and focused mainly on professionals in the public and political sector.
