Soy products do not increase risk of breast cancer death or recurrence

Researchers studying the association between the intake of soy food and breast cancer outcomes among survivors have found that there is not a greater likelihood of cancer recurrence and death linked to consumption of soy products. Soy foods contain large amounts of isoflavones, which were thought to affect breast cancer patients because they have low levels of estrogen as a result of treatment. They were also considered to compromise the effect of tamoxifen in breast cancer treatment.
