Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, James Cook University

I am a Marine Ecologist at James Cook University, Cairns Campus. My previous research looked into the role of biotic dispersal of tropical seagrasses, concentrating on marine mega-herbivores (dugong and green sea turtles) in the Great Barrier Reef (GBR), Australia.
I am currently working on establishing an environmental DNA detection kit for Yellow Crazy Ants in Far North Tropical Queensland, Australia . This research will assist the Queensland Government Bio-security eradication program. This research involves the design and testing of eDNA degradation in terrestrial and aquatic environments and producing a detection kit for use by non-scientists.
