Summary
Anna Mortimore lectures in taxation at Griffith University. Her interest has been in environmental taxation for many years and is currently completing her PHD by publication on the topic of "The Use of Economic Instruments in Managing the Environmental Externalities of Road Transport?". Ms Mortimore has presented and chaired sessions at the International Environmental Tax Conferences for many years, and has published extensively in the Edward Elgar, and Oxford publication of "Critical Issues in Environmental Taxation International and Comparative Perspectives." She has also presented at the Tax Teachers Conference on various environmental taxation issues. Her recent publications in 2011 were "Mandating emission targets can significantly reduce road transport emissions in Australia", book Chapter 9 in "Environmental Taxation in China and Asia Pacific" and "What now for environmental sustainability? Government fails to link Australian car FBT concessions to vehicle emissions" published in the Australian Tax Forum Journal in July 2011. In 2011 Ms Mortimore made submissions to the Australian Governments review of Australia's Future Tax System and to the Australian Governments discussion paper on "Light vehicle CO2 emission standards for Australia."
