In 2011, I developed an interest in sport-related concussion, leading to a PhD (Monash) on the topic "Why the Brain Matters: Regulating Concussion in Sport". My research interests focus on the public interest in sport and regulatory and governance systems in sport. I have a particular interest in working with academics and industry partners to develop understandings that translate into real and practical solutions.
As an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Law, I teach Global Sports Law & Governance, Sports Law, Corporate Law and Contemporary Issues in Law and Society. I am General Editor of the Sports Law eJournal and Co-Director of the Centre for Commercial Law.
My legal practice career involved senior management roles in small, medium and large law firms, including Special Counsel at Corrs Chambers Westgarth. I maintain my practising certificate and have held memberships at the Queensland Law Society and Law Institute of Victoria. I am on the board of the Australian and New Zealand Sports Law Association (ANZSLA), the peak NFP sports law organisation.
