Dr Bomikazi Zeka is an Assistant Professor in Finance and Financial Planning at the University of Canberra. Bomikazi’s research interest is in the economic outcomes of previously disadvantaged individuals (particularly women, people of colour and older adults) and seeks to understand the pathways that maintain their marginal status, as well as the coping strategies they employ to overcome economic vulnerability. Bomikazi’s research aims to fully appreciate the different shades of poverty resulting from socio-economic inequality and her research agenda also addresses the consequences of economic inequality on families, communities, and social structures.
