Brian Finlayson has an honours degree in Geography from the University of Queensland (1970) and a PhD from the School of Geographical Sciences at the University of Bristol (1975). After 4 years in the School of Geography at Oxford University he moved to the University of Melbourne until his retirement in 2007.
