Invasive species are an increasing problem worldwide and understanding the invasion history and ecology of such species is an essential prerequisite to develop sustainable and effective management approaches.
My main research focus is to generate knowledge about such aspects, especially in regard to globally important invasive tree species like Australian acacias and eucalypts. To do so, I apply various methodological approaches including state-of-the-art molecular tools, statistical modelling, in-depth literature reviews as well as meta-analyses.
Besides invasion biology, I am also highly interested in how threatened or declining plant species are affected by human activities.
