James O’Sullivan lectures in the Department of Digital Humanities at University College Cork. He has previously held faculty positions at Pennsylvania State University and the University of Sheffield, as well as visiting fellowships at NOVA University, Lisbon, and Trinity College Dublin. James is a member of the inaugural board of UCC's Future Humanities Institute, for which he leads the Digital Cultures, New Media, & Cultural Analytics research cluster. He is the author of Towards a Digital Poetics (Palgrave Macmillan 2019) and he has also edited several collections, including The Bloomsbury Handbook to the Digital Humanities (Bloomsbury 2022) and Reading Modernism with Machines (Palgrave Macmillan 2016). His scholarship has appeared in a variety of international publications, most notably, Digital Scholarship in the Humanities, Digital Studies/Le Champ Numérique, Poetics, the International Journal of Humanities and Arts Computing, and Digital Humanities Quarterly. James has also had writing in The Guardian, The Irish Times and LA Review of Books.
