Jesse J. Fleay

Jesse is an experienced Noongar writer and research specialist across major policy areas. Jesse was a signatory co-author to the Uluru Statement from the Heart in 2017, which was awarded the Sydney Peace Prize in 2021. After the referendum, Jesse was appointed to the National Centre for Reconciliation, Truth and Justice within Federation University’s Global and Engagement portfolios. With the centre, he leads national and regional transformational changes alongside a team of First Nations scholars from all points of the Southern Sky.

Jesse is committed to exploring regional and national understandings and engagements regarding reconciliation, truth, and justice, across industry, academic and community settings. Jesse’s doctoral thesis contributes the first and only model for an Australian republic, along with calls to fully reconcile Australia. Jesse believes in justice, and fairness in society and only works with people committed to First Nations people, and their self-determination.
