Dr Julian Hargreaves is Lecturer in Quantitative Sociology at the Department of Sociology and Criminology, City, University of London where he currently teaches on topics related to social science and policing. He is also an Research Affiliate at the Department of Sociology (University of Cambridge) and Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Islamic Studies (University of Cambridge).
He holds a PhD in Applied Social Science and an MRes (Distinction) in Criminology from Lancaster University, a GDL and LPC from the College of Law, London, and a BA (Hons) in Historical Studies from Manchester Metropolitan University.
His research interests include ethnic and religious minority communities in the UK, statistics, the criminal justice system and public sector, terrorism and counter-terrorism, and wider issues concerning prejudice, discrimination and social cohesion. In a half-remembered past life, he worked as an A&R man in the music industry.
