Kate Hoy

Research Fellow / Clinical Neuropsychologist at Monash University

Summary

Dr Kate Hoy is a Research Fellow and Clinical Neuropsychologist in the Brain Stimulation and Neuroscience research stream at the Monash Alfred Psychiatry Research Centre. Dr Hoy has been conducting research into brain stimulation and psychiatry for the last nine years. She has conducted numerous studies of the effects on the brain of transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS), Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Magnetic Seizure Thearpy (MST). Her current research interests are in the impact of brain stimulation on cognition. Dr Hoy investigates both the use of non-invasive brain stimulation to treat cognitive symptoms and in the preservation of cognition following brain stimulation therapy for psychiatric illness.
