Institute Manager, Órama - Institute for Mental Health and Wellbeing, Flinders University
Mel is the Institute Manager of the newly formed Órama - Institute for Mental Health and Wellbeing at Flinders University. Órama aims to address mental health and welfare issues using a trans-disciplinary approach.
Previously Mel was a researcher within the Robinson Research Institute and ARC Centre of Excellence for Nanoscale BioPhotonics (CNBP) at the University of Adelaide and her research interests are the final stages of oocyte maturation and fertilisation, called the peri-conception period. In particular, Mel investigated the influence of energy substrates such as carbohydrates and fats on oocyte health and subsequent embryo health.
