Associate Professor Michael B. Charles is a member of the Faculty of Business, Law and Arts at Southern Cross University, Gold Coast, Australia. He has a PhD from the University of Queensland (Ancient History) and a Master of International Business Studies from the Queensland University of Technology. His current research mainly focuses on transport and infrastructure policy, public values and higher education, and history, with a particular emphasis on ancient military history and the use of elephants in warfare. He teaches at present mainly in the university’s Aviation Major, though also contributes elsewhere in the Faculty's teaching.
