Roza Tchoukaleyska is Assistant Professor in Environment and Sustainability at the School of Science and the Environment, Grenfell Campus, Memorial University. Her research examines the cultural and social processes of public space redevelopment, in urban and rural contexts. Through research in Canada and in France, she examines how public space is government, the expression of diverse identities in civic spaces, and how 'the public' is defined. Her current work considers the impact of public health measures on city spaces, including farmers' markets and other local food venues.
