Abdil Mughis Mudhoffir is subject coordinator in Asian Studies at the Asia Institute, University of Melbourne and recipient of the 2024 Humboldt Research Fellowships. He is the author of the book "State of Disorder: Privatised Violence and the State in Indonesia", published by Palgrave Macmillan, 2022. His writings can be found in the Journal of Contemporary Asia, Third World Quarterly and Critical Asian Studies among others. His latest writing (book chapter) co-authored with Rafiqa Qurrata A'yun on the politics of human rights and the COVID-19 pandemic in Southeast Asia will be published in the Routledge Handbook of Human Rights in Southeast Asia.
