My work combines molecular tools with oceanography to understand the ecology of planktonic stages of cephalopods in coastal upwellings, mainly Octopus vulgaris: their diet, population analysis and life-cycle.
My current research aims to apply the ecological knowledge gathered from Octopus vulgaris paralarvae in the wild to solve the bottleneck of octopus aquaculture.
Complementary, I am interested in zooplankton trophic ecology and understanding parasitic/epibiontic relationships in the zooplankton, anadromous fishes and nudibranchs.
