Carol holds a PhD in sociology, and specialises agrifood systems, which includes sustainable production, food security, supply chain governance and regulation. She is currently an Professor at the Business School, Queensland University of Technology and a member of the QUT Centre for Agriculture and the Bioeconomy and the QUT Centre for Resilience
