Honorary Professor, University of Sydney

Simon Jackman is an Honorary Professor at the University of Sydney where he served as CEO of the US Studies Centre (2016-2022). Between 1996 and 2016 he was a professor of Political Science and Statistics at Stanford University.

One of Australia' most accomplished social scientists, Jackman's publishing career spanning three decades, and dozens of highly cited referred research on public opinion and voting, election campaigns, political participation, and electoral systems. Jackman is the author of Bayesian Analysis for the Social Sciences (Wiley 2009), a widely used textbook on Bayesian statistical methods with an emphasis on applications in the social sciences.

Jackman consults for a broad array of clients spanning politics, media and business, bringing his statistical and computational expertise to assist with strategy, campaigns, and litigation in Australia and the United States.
