I have garnered an international reputation for my advanced, meticulous, and pioneering research, which integrates various disciplines and emphasises the Global South. My expertise lies in the examination of critical issues and frameworks within Asia, including Southeast Asia, providing an interdisciplinary perspective that bridges theory with real-world applications. One of the most recent attestations to my commitment to this field is my upcoming publication in the esteemed "Asian Journal of Comparative Law." This paper investigates the significant shortcomings of the current Customer Due Diligence framework. Specifically, it critiques how the existing structures might inadvertently contribute to the financial exclusion of vulnerable and marginalised communities, using Malaysia as a case study. Through this work, I aim to highlight the broader systemic flaws, encouraging legal and policy reforms that ensure equitable access to financial systems for all individuals.
